Planning Commission
About Us
State law requires that our city has a Planning Commission. The North Oaks Planning Commission is an advisory board to the City Council on planning and land use issues. The seven volunteer members are appointed by the City Council along with one non-voting City Council liaison. The Commission is responsible for advising the City Council on planning and land use issues, as well as conducting public hearings to obtain citizen input. The Planning Commission reviews the city's comprehensive plan and any conditional use permits (CUP) and variances. The North Oaks Planning Commission meets the last Thursday of each month. While their recommendation provides the Council with guidance, the final decision making authority on all matters lies with the North Oaks City Council.
