About Us

In February 2011, the City of North Oaks established the Natural Resources Commission consisting of up to 9 voting members appointed by City Council. The committee is an advisory to the City Council. It makes recommendations regarding development in the long term City Natural Resource Plan and the management of natural resources in the City. The group meets on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m., 100 Village Center Dr., Suite 150, North Oaks, MN 55127. (*currently via zoom platform)

Mission Statement

The Natural Resources Commission is an advisory body to the City Council. The role of this Commission is to make recommendations to the City Council to assist the City of North Oaks as it strives to preserve and maintain the city’s status as a unique place to live. The primary focus of the Commission is education for residents on protecting the community’s natural resources. In concert with all established homeowner’s associations, commercial associations, property owners, developers and citizens, the City shall continue to emphasize community and individual privacy with the protection and/or management of all natural resources and invasive species. This includes, but is not limited to, wildlife, forests, wetlands, shorelands, surface water and groundwater.
