Milestone Reached

June 29, 2020 — More than a half million Minnesotans have been tested for Coronavirus.

Gov. Tim Walz held a news conference today to declare a COVID-19 “testing milestone.” The state now has the capacity to test 20,000 Minnesotans per day, a "moonshot" testing goal that the governor first announced back in April.

Vigilance is still needed against the pandemic. People in their 20s continue to have the most positive cases of any age group. As of today, there have been 35, 861 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state of Minnesota, and 1,435 deaths attributed to the virus.
